Local and virtual community groups¶
Local and virtual community groups encourage Write the Docs enthusiasts to participate and connect with other documentarians outside of the conferences. These groups are a great way to network and stay up to date with the documentation world.
Each community group has its own unique style that varies based on the organizers and the locale it represents.
The most active group platform is Meetup, which supports in-person and virtual events. While not required, the majority of our community groups opt to use the Meetup platform. Many groups also create a LinkedIn page/group or other group specific social media to share their events.
Note
Community groups are run by volunteer organizers. The type and frequency of events depend on the organizers, their schedule, as well as group engagement. Learn more about organizing

Note
We are removing inactive Meetup groups from this page. For record keeping purposes we created a Meetup group archive page. You can find a list of paused, inactive, and archived groups there.
